Materials

What goes into ZeraEco™ — and why every choice matters.

Every material in ZeraEco Adaptive Care Pull-Up Pants was chosen deliberately. Not defaulted to. Not inherited from adult incontinence products. Chosen with the child wearing it in mind. Here is exactly what is inside and why it matters.

MATERIAL 1 — TOP SHEET

Viscose made from bamboo

Where it sits: The top sheet is the innermost layer — the first thing that touches your child's skin.

Why we chose it:
Viscose made from bamboo is one of the softest materials available for this application. It is smooth against the skin, breathable, and gentle — particularly important for children with sensory sensitivities who find coarser materials uncomfortable or distressing.

It is also an important consideration for children with compromised immune systems — including those undergoing chemotherapy or managing chronic illness — whose skin can be more reactive and sensitive than typical.

The top sheet wicks moisture away from the skin quickly, helping keep the skin surface drier for longer.

What it feels like: Soft. Smooth. Gentle. Similar to a soft cotton undershirt against the skin.

MATERIAL 2 — BACK SHEET

Starch-based film

Where it sits: The back sheet is the outermost layer — what faces away from the body and sits against clothing.

Why we chose it:
Most incontinence products use conventional petroleum-based plastic films for their back sheet. These tend to be stiff, crinkle audibly when the child moves, and can feel harsh against the skin at the leg openings.

We chose a Starch-based film instead. It is derived from plant material rather than petroleum, which gives it a softer, more flexible feel. It moves more naturally with the body, reduces the stiff rustling sound that conventional films make, and sits more comfortably against the skin at contact points.

For children with sensory sensitivities — autism, sensory processing differences, or tactile defensiveness — the quieter, softer feel of this material can make a meaningful difference to wearability.

What it feels like: Softer and more flexible than conventional films. Quieter when the child moves.

MATERIAL 3 — ABSORBENT CORE

Wood pulp absorbent core

Where it sits: The core sits between the top sheet and back sheet — the layer that absorbs and contains.

Why we chose it:
Wood pulp is a well-established, reliable absorbent material used in high-performance incontinence products globally.

The core is designed to lock moisture away from the skin quickly, reducing the risk of skin irritation from prolonged wetness — particularly important for children who may not be able to communicate discomfort or who sleep through the night without waking.

Performance:Designed for extended wear periods.
